Ontario’s Foremost Show and Sale for Representational Painters – The Places and Faces of Ontario
A production of the Grand Bend Art Centre
This year marks the 23rd annual show, juried competition, and sale that has grown into such an important and eagerly anticipated cultural event in the Grand Bend area.
The scope of Paint Ontario is enormous. Over 200 original paintings fill the exhibition hall to capacity and bring to life the beauty, character and diversity of Ontario. Newly introduced in 2018 and back by popular demand is the show-within-a-show, the ‘Faces of Ontario’, a portraiture showcase. Show prices range from $200 to $4000, making purchasing an original piece of art accessible to all.
For visitors, art comes to life with live demonstrations by international, national and local artists, accompanied on weekends by some of the best of locally crafted wines and beers. For information on artist workshops, talks, and demonstrations that will be held throughout the show, visit the Artist Workshops page.
The Opening Night Reception will be held on March 29 from 4:00pm – 9:00pm, with an awards presentation at 7:00pm. This is always a great event including free admission and a cash bar!
Through the auspices of the Grand Bend Art Centre, a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers brings the show to fruition through every stage of production, from conception to the finished product. This prestigious show not only gives artists the opportunity to be seen and to sell their works, but also the monies raised in commissions go straight back into cultural development within the community. The Grand Bend Arts Centre is a non-profit organization which provides, among many other things, a music program to the local school, grants to individuals and organizations who contribute to arts in the community, and art camps for kids.
