 Museum Insider Tour

As insiders, students will explore the roles of museums and museum professionals within their community. For younger students we discuss the types of things you can find at your local museum. For older students, we will take a closer look at items in the museum’s collection related to themes in Canadian history from 1850 to 1914.
Recommended for grades K to 3, 8.

19th Century Life

Learn what life was like in southern Ontario in the 1800s. Museum objects, historic buildings, and primary source documents will be used to explore transportation, immigration, home, work, food, and school during this time period. Together we will make comparisons between then and now.
Recommended for grades 2 to 5.

Virtual Holidays @ Heritage

In this Virtual Program you will learn how people celebrated the holidays in Lambton long ago. Explore festive traditions of gift-giving, food and drink, decorations, and more. Make comparisons between then and now. There are curriculum connections with grade 2 Heritage and Identity: Changing Family and Community Traditions, and grade 3 Heritage and Identity: Communities in Canada, 1780-1850.

Recommended for grades 1 to 4.

*Available only in November and December
