Explore our online collection

The Lambton Museums and Archives' online catalogue are available in one Web location. This online catalogue includes thousands of photographs, books, textiles, archival documents, and historic artifacts.

Keep in mind that there are items in the collection that have not been digitized and can only be viewed through an in-person appointment. We are always growing and updating this digital collection, so check back regularly.

If you are doing any kind of research, the Researcher Access page is a great place to start.

Designations

Since 1925, Oil Springs has held a National Historic Site designation for the Oil Springs oil fields. Reaffirming this national status in 2006. And in 2010, a committee formally defined the borders of the oil heritage cultural landscape. We know our local history has globally significant reach and in 2017, we made a bid for UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.
