Wyoming, ON - Lambton Heritage Museum and the Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site, are excited to host their annual Holiday Open Houses, on the upcoming PA Day, Friday, November 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Celebrate the start of the holiday season with activities that capture the festive spirit. At Lambton Heritage Museum, there will be holiday-themed activities in the historic buildings, including a Christmas cracker craft in the Rokeby School and a costumed interpreter in the Tudhop House. Enjoy a warm cup of Wassail, a traditional holiday drink made from apple cider, while cozying up to the historic wood-burning stoves, and round out your visit with a nostalgic hayride around the Museum grounds.

The Oil Museum of Canada invites visitors to try traditional candle-dipping, participate in a variety of holiday-themed crafts, and enjoy a cup of warm Wassail too. A Victorian Santa will make an appearance and take photos with children.

“We are thrilled to offer two magical holiday experiences for families to enjoy on the PA Day,” said Jessica Stevenson, Marketing and Events Coordinator with Lambton County Museums and Archives. “Visitors will experience the joy of Lambton County’s early holiday traditions brought to life through costumed interpreters, holiday-themed activities, and a cup of Wassail at either location. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!”

These drop-in events will take place November 15, 2024 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Admission is free to Lambton County residents in celebration of Lambton County’s 175th anniversary. Regular admission applies to non-County residents. For more information, visit lambtonmuseums.ca.

Participants at the Oil Museum of Canada’s event are kindly asked to bring donations of non-perishable food items to support the local food bank. Donations of food items will be accepted in lieu of admission fees for non-County residents.
