Discover Shipwreck Secrets at Lambton Heritage Museum’s June 5 PA Day Event
Grand Bend, ON – Families and young explorers are invited to dive into local nautical history at Lambton Heritage Museum’s PA Day event Shipwreck Secrets on Friday, June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This interactive experience will uncover the fascinating and dramatic stories of shipwrecks near Lambton County. Visitors will have the opportunity to view authentic shipwreck artifacts from the collection and learn about the many causes behind some of the historic sinkings. Additionally, visitors can take part in games and activities that will highlight both the dangers of nautical travel and the excitement of uncovering a hidden shipwreck.
“Shipwrecks are powerful reminders of the risks and resilience tied to our region’s waterways,” said Colleen Inglis, Educational Program Coordinator with Lambton Heritage Museum. “PA Day events like this turn important history into something visitors can see, touch, and experience. It’s a fun way for families to learn together while exploring the challenges and discoveries of life on the water.”
In addition to the special programming, attendees may explore the feature exhibition Bluewaterland: Dive Into the Depths, offering further insight into Lambton County’s connection to Lake Huron and the St. Clair River. Guided tours of the exhibition with Curator/Supervisor Dana Thorne will be offered at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+) and students, $3 for children, and children aged three and under are free. For more information, visit the event page on the Museum website.
