Lambton Heritage Museum celebrates food history in October PA Day Event

Grand Bend, ON – Lambton Heritage Museum invites families to spend the upcoming PA Day exploring the connection between food, science, and history. A Taste of History takes place on Friday, October 10 between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., offering interactive activities and food history-related experiences for all ages.
From the past to the present, food is connected to our lives in many ways. Families can test their observation skills with a scavenger hunt through the Lambton Gallery, where solving clues and answering questions will highlight the many ways food relates to culture and community.
Visitors will have the chance to learn about traditional food preservation methods, such as pickling and jam-making. The event also provides one of the final opportunities to explore the feature exhibit, A Taste of Science, before it closes on October 25. The travelling exhibit, created by the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, examines the science of preserving food and preventing spoilage.
“A Taste of History gives families a chance to explore how science, food, and history are deeply connected,” said Colleen Inglis, Educational Program Coordinator with Lambton Heritage Museum. “Whether you’re solving our scavenger hunt, learning about jamming or pickling, or exploring our feature exhibit, you’ll see how traditions of the past still shape what we eat and how we live today.”
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+) and students, $3 for children, and children aged three and under are free. No registration is required. For more information, visit the event page on the Museum’s website.
