Museum staff tune up a demonstration gas engine that will be on display at Lambton Heritage Museum Bygone Days Bash on July 4.

Grand Bend, ON – Lambton Heritage Museum invites the public to step back in time and experience hands-on history at Bygone Days Bash, taking place Saturday, July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This family-friendly event celebrates heritage skills and old-fashioned technology through a wide range of interactive activities and live demonstrations. The Great Canadian Lumberjack Show will present three high-energy performances during the event, featuring displays of strength, speed, and classic lumberjack skills. Visitors can experience antique farm equipment, including steam-powered threshing machines (demonstrations weather-dependent), and tractors from the Museum’s collection. Live demonstrations of heritage skills such as historic sewing and quilting, wool spinning, and hand-carving will also occur throughout the day. The West Coast Lions Club of Grand Bend will host a BBQ with food and drink for purchase.

Bygone Days Bash will also mark a significant milestone for the Museum as the newly renovated Agricultural Hall is officially opened to the public. The building has been refreshed with new displays that bring Lambton’s agricultural history to life, exploring key topics such as land clearing, plowing, planting, harvesting, processing crops, and caring for livestock.

Jessica Stevenson, Marketing and Events Coordinator with Lambton County Museums and Archives said, “We’re excited to offer this heritage demonstration event to celebrate the grand opening of our newly renovated Agricultural Hall. From steam-powered machinery to traditional skills, this event highlights the agricultural roots of Lambton County. Families will enjoy demonstrations and live entertainment while discovering how people lived and worked in the past.”

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+) and students, $3 for children, and children aged three and under are free. For more information on Lambton Heritage Museum, visit the Museum website at heritagemuseum.ca.
