Grand Bend, ON – Lambton Heritage Museum is inviting the community to get cozy and creative at their PA Day event Spinning a Yarn Storytime on Friday, February 2, 2024. This event will take place at the Museum in collaboration with Lambton County Library.

Between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. families are invited to drop-in at the Museum for several yarn-themed activities. Lambton County Library staff will perform a special story time featuring yarn-centric stories. Storytimes will begin at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Children can also participate in a yarn-painting activity, where small strands of colourful yarn are glued to a piece of paper to create a design, pattern, or image. Wool and textile-related artifacts will also be present to highlight the history of yarn and different ways this material has been used in the past.

“We’re excited to partner with Lambton County Library for our first PA Day event of 2024,” said Colleen Inglis, Educational Program Coordinator with Lambton Heritage Museum. “We wanted to pick a theme that invokes cozy and warm imagery in comparison to the winter weather outside, while also encouraging children to be creative and use their imaginations.”

Registration is not required and participants are encouraged to drop-in before the story time of their choice. Admission is free to residents of Lambton County in celebration of the County’s 175th anniversary.
