Wyoming, ON - Lambton Heritage Museum and the Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site, are pleased to announce their annual Holiday Open Houses will take place on the upcoming PA Day, Friday, November 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Get into the merry spirit and discover Lambton County’s early holiday traditions through holiday-themed crafts, costumed interpreters, and nostalgic seasonal activities at Lambton County Museums

“Our annual holiday events bring Lambton’s history to life in a magical way,” said Jessica Stevenson, Marketing and Events Coordinator with Lambton County Museums and Archives. “Across both Lambton Museums, families can discover how past generations celebrated the season through traditional treats, costumed interpreters, and hands-on activities.”

At Lambton Heritage Museum in Grand Bend, enjoy the cozy atmosphere in the historic buildings with wood-burning stoves and a warm cup of wassail, a traditional holiday drink made from apple cider. Make a Christmas cracker in the Rokeby School and hear stories of early settler holidays from a costumed interpreter in the Tudhop House. Round out your visit with a festive hayride around the Museum grounds.

The Oil Museum of Canada in Oil Springs will welcome Victorian Santa to tell stories and take photos with children. Visitors can try traditional candle-dipping, get creative with seasonal crafts, and enjoy a warm cup of wassail.

These drop-in events will take place on Friday, November 21 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Regular Museum admission applies. Participants are invited to bring non-perishable food items to support local food banks. Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted in lieu of admission fees.
