Snowy exterior at Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site

Oil Springs, ON – Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site, invites the public to embrace the winter weather and participate in a fun PA Day event focusing on winter sports and activities.

This drop-in event filled with family-friendly activities takes place on February 3, 2023 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Oil Museum. Visitors should come dressed for the weather, as they can borrow snowshoes provided by Lambton County Library to take a stomp around the snowy Museum grounds. Inside the Museum, enjoy a warm cup of apple cider, participate in winter sports themed crafts, and view a display of historical winter sports artifacts from the Museum collection.

“Winter sports are a great way to stay active and have some fun even in the coldest parts of winter. We’re excited to celebrate the season and share some of the traditional ways we enjoy it together,” said Christina Sydorko, Educational Program Coordinator with the Oil Museum of Canada. “We’re hoping for snowy winter weather so visitors can adventure around our historic site on snowshoes. It’s a fun activity for all ages, especially if you’ve never tried it before.”

Regular museum admission rates apply for this event. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors and students, $3.00 for children and $15.00 for families. Children three and under are free.

Snowshoeing activities will be dependent on the amount of snow on the ground. For more information visit the event page on the Oil Museum website.
