The Oil Museum of Canada offers Sunny Side Up PA Day Event

Oil Springs, ON - The Oil Museum of Canada is shining a light on the renewable energy of solar power at their Sunny Side Up: Solar Energy PA Day event on Friday, June 6.

Families can drop-in between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for an enlightening day exploring the science behind different types of solar power. Hands-on activities will include creating a sun print using light sensitive paper, completing a sun-themed scavenger hunt, building a solar fan tower, and planting a sunflower or tomato plant to take home.

“The sun is a constant and infinitely renewable resource. It helps plants grow through photosynthesis and with technology like solar panels, we can use the sun’s energy to generate electricity,” said Christina Sydorko, Educational Program Coordinator with the Oil Museum of Canada. “This event is a chance for families to explore the different ways we use solar power; from the science we already use today to ways we might use it in a sustainable future.”

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+) and students, $3 for children, and children aged three and under are free. For more information, visit the event page on the Museum’s website.
