Lambton County Warden Kevin Marriott shares historical family artifacts with Laurie Webb Manager Museums Gallery and Archives

Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Museums and Lambton County Library are looking for residents to show off their local historical items and tell them about it, as part of Lambton County’s 175th Anniversary Celebrations.

“Lambton 175 Show & Tell invites residents to show us cherished possessions that reflect Lambton's diverse past,” said Adrienne Lebert, Public Services Coordinator, Lambton County Library. “Whether it's a family photograph capturing generations gone by, a handwritten diary chronicling local life, or a treasured heirloom passed down through the ages, every item holds a piece of Lambton's heritage.” Event organizers are asking residents not to bring firearms out of the interest of public safety.

At the Lambton 175 Show & Tell events, residents will also have the benefit of accessing the expertise of staff from the Museums and Archives who may be able to provide additional insight about the object, and may be able to record, digitize, or photograph the object which will allow future generations to learn about Lambton’s history.

“Lambton’s 175th Anniversary has created a great opportunity for us to reach out to residents in an effort to celebrate and learn more about our local history and ensure we are taking steps preserve it for future generations,” said Nicole Aszalos, Archivist / Supervisor, Lambton County Archives. “Every household in Lambton County is likely to have a treasured photo of their ancestors posing outside their Lambton farmhouse, or a family favourite recipe that has been passed down by each generation, or a ledger from the family business, or a school or team uniform in their attic.
