Historic Tour of Petrolia

Historypin is a collaborative digital archive which allows users to view historic photographs in relation to their location on Google Maps. Explore one of the most fascinating, historic locations in Lambton County and learn more about Petrolia's unique oil heritage!

Sarnia: We Built This City

Historypin is a collaborative digital archive which allows users to view historic photographs in relation to their location on Google Maps. Discover Sarnia's changing streetscapes. Learn about the places where Sarnians worked, the businesses where they bought their goods, the city where they spend their leisure time and raised their families. (Created in partnership with the Lambton Heritage Museum as an extension of the Sarnia: We Built this City exhibit.)

Snowmageddon

AAO Institutional Award Winner

On December 12, 2010, a massive snow event gripped significant portions of Lambton and surrounding areas stranding over 1,500 motorists along Highway 402 and other roadways. Snowmageddon as it is known brought communities to a standstill all while increasing the resources needed to respond...

The Township of Warwick: A Story Through Time

In 2008, the Warwick Township History Committee put a great deal of time, energy, and heart into the creation of the manuscript entitled The Township of Warwick: A Story Through Time. This sweeping history has been made available in its entirety in this virtual exhibit, along with additional photographs and research material that was not included in the original publication. This virtual exhibit was produced through a partnership between the Lambton County Archives and the Warwick Township History Committee.

History of Community Concert Bands in Lambton County

The exhibit, accompanied by a digital exhibit, explored the history of community concert bands across Lambton County. Alvinston, Inwood, Watford, Petrolia, Arkona, Thedford, Forest, Oil Springs, Walpole, and Sarnia all had concert bands.
