Here are some handy tips to help you make the most of your visit. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact us.

1) Pavilion
We do not offer food or drinks (other than a water bottle filler), so we recommend bringing a lunch if you plan to stay for the whole day. There is an on site pavilion with picnic tables.
2) Out Buildings
Our out buildings are open from Victoria Day weekend until the last weekend in October. During these months, our out buildings are open Wednesday and Friday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Thursdays, from 11:00 a.m. until sunset.
3) Exhibits

Our exhibits open and close when the museum opens and closes. Our hours of operation are stated below:

Monday CLOSED
Tuesday

CLOSED

Wednesday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Friday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

4) Where to begin exploring...
Start your visit by buying your admission ticket in the main building. From there, you can explore the museum, both inside and outside, in any order you like. While numbered markers are provided to guide you, you're welcome to wander at your own pace and follow your interests.
5) Audio Tour

Our audio driving tour is a unique 8 km experience that explores the historical oil fields. To participate in this tour:

  1. Buy an admission ticket at our front desk.
  2. Download the Stqry Guide app from Google Play or the App Store onto your device, which will provide you with a map of the tour.

View our audio driving tour page for more details.

6) Walking Trail
There is a 1 km walking trail beside the Oil Museum of Canada that leads into Oil Springs. If you need help finding the trail, please ask one of our staff members. We also recommend bringing bug spray in case there are any pests along the trail.
